6U Softball – Coach Pitch
MCAA 6U coach pitch is offered in both Spring and Fall seasons. Spring season is longer in duration than the fall season. Spring season usually starts in the beginning of April and goes through the end of June. The fall season begins after Labor Day and will conclude at the end of October.
The 6u Softball division of McCandless is intended to help girls learn the rules of softball, as well as to learn the basic skills of catching, throwing, baserunning and hitting. Coaches will try to teach these skills in a fun, positive way! The ultimate goals are to have fun and learn the game!
Some of the basic rules for 6U softball include:
- Teams will play 2-3 inning games
- Teams will use rubber balls
- Team will bat through their entire line up each inning
- No outs are counted. If an out is made in the field, the baserunner will stay on the base.
- No strikeouts. A tee will be used after about 7 balls pitched by the coach.
