The success of our organization is based solely on the involvement of parents, community volunteers, and community based sponsorship. Men and women in our community work year-round to make sure that our association is continuing to grow and improve in order to provide our young people with a fun and safe athletic experience. Plans are already under way for this upcoming baseball and softball seasons. In order to take these plans from the board room to the community, we are always in need of generous and caring individuals willing to donate their time to better our community.
Below are some ways you can get involved starting today!
Parent Involvement
The success of all of our programs relies heavily on the involvement of our wonderful MCAA families. Especially at the younger levels, parent volunteers to assist with games and practices are very important. Opportunities are not limited to coaching as field preparation, equipment management and other assignments are required for a great season. Reach out to your son or daughter’s coach about ways you can help.
Attending Board Meetings
All members of our community are welcome to attend our monthly board meetings. Check our website and follow us on social media for time and location of these meetings. All voices are heard at these meetings and it is a great way to become informed and provide your input and opinions on where we can improve. Attendance at board meetings can also lead to a greater leadership role in our association.
Volunteer Coach
We are always on the lookout for great coaches willing to bring their knowledge and expertise to the young men and women of our association. If you are interested in coaching please reach out to the division general manager of which you aspire to coach. Also note that you must obtain the necessary clearances, in accordance with PA state legislation, in order to work with children. Please see our clearance policy for this information.
Snack Shack/Concessions
Our greatest asset at MCAA is our beautiful facilities. At any given time, we may have 7 games going on at once. With so much foot traffic within our facility, concessions are a vital way to both enhance the game day atmosphere and provide revenue to the association that can be used to improve our programs and facilities. If you are interested in helping out with concessions, please contact Lauren Waters at [email protected].
Field Clean-Up Day
Every year, prior to the start of our spring seasons, we hold a field clean-up day in preparation for opening day. This is an important day as it is our last opportunity to finalize any unfinished projects and simply get our facility ready for the excitement that is the official start of baseball season! Other tasks may include cleaning up dugouts, weeding, raking, etc… Your son or daughter’s coach will provide you with the date/time of this year’s field clean-up day.
Year-Round Projects
Our fields and facilities are 100% maintained and improved upon by the generosity of volunteers, donors and sponsors. Throughout the year we look to accomplish projects to either maintain or improve upon our already beautiful baseball/softball complex. Projects in the past have included building dugouts, batting cages, etc… Attending board meetings and staying actively involved will keep you up to date with any new projects we may have moving forward.
